Background 'Los Het Op'

'Los Het Op' is a cross-media video series created by Linde Merckpoel, a well-known Belgian radio and television presenter. After leaving radio a few years ago to focus on video, Linde discovered her passion for vlogging and addressing social issues in her videos. This passion led to the creation of 'Los Het Op', where she tackles and solves problems submitted by viewers and listeners, regardless of their size or significance.

Approach

The series features Linde's approachable and empathetic style, making complex or sensitive topics accessible to a broad audience. Each episode typically focuses on a specific issue, exploring it from multiple angles and incorporating expert opinions, personal anecdotes, and practical advice.

Sample Issues Addressed

'Los Het Op' covers a wide range of problems, including but not limited to:

  • The stigma surrounding abortion
  • The lack of attention for women in cycling
  • Body positivity and acceptance of being fat
  • The taboo of discussing painful sex
  • Learning to skate at 45 years old
  • Overcoming loneliness and making friends
  • Recognizing and connecting with women who are also into women
  • Addressing the overcrowding in animal shelters

And thus many more. 

Distribution and Impact

The series is distributed through various channels, including VRT MAX, social media platforms of Linde (Facebook and Instagram), and on top of that a radio show on Studio Brussel. This multi-platform approach ensures that 'Los Het Op' reaches a diverse and wide-ranging audience, engaging viewers across different media.

Because the topics had socially relevant values, they were also picked up by different news media. 

Our role

It was a pleasure to be closely involved in this project. As Linde's management, we negotiate contracts and agreements with producers, broadcasters, and other stakeholders involved in financing and distributing the project.
